Lately

We've been a little sick here the past few weeks. Josh, Sadie, and I have all had colds, etc. Hopefully we will all be well soon.

Here are some pictures of how we've spent our time lately.

Thanksgiving Vacation

I have a lot of pictures from our Thanksgiving vacation to the beach but the likelihood of me getting them off my camera any time soon is slim. For now here are pics from my phone. We had a great time!

The condo was perfect. Sadie picked out her spot right away. She loved sliding off the bottom.


She wasn't happy we wouldn't let her stick her arms and legs through the balcony railing. Bless her heart. Mean momma and daddy.


The views were amazing. Every view, inside and out, was of the ocean.

The first morning it was pretty cool but the weather ended up being perfect for the week.


Sadie was obsessed with the sand and water.


She had no fear. This was her 3rd vacation to the beach (lucky little lady) and by far her favorite as far as the sand and ocean are concerned.


My parents let us (and my sister) enjoy dinner one night without the kids. It was heavenly.

All week Sadie asked for cake so I made her cupcakes.


No Orange Beach vacation is complete without a trip to Tacky Jack's.


Sadie loved playing all week with her cousins.


Thanksgiving Day was wonderful.


I had quite the view while enjoying my yummy Cracker Barrel lunch.


The day-after-Thanksgiving tradition continues. The kids received Christmas pjs and Christmas books.

I hope to do another post with real pictures but I think you can tell what a blast we had at the beach. It's our home away from
home.

Tubes

I am WAY behind on posting. Man. I hope to get a lot caught up this week.

A couple of weeks ago, after being very sick (see previous post), Sadie got tubes.

It was a quick and easy process although I wish someone would have warned us about how she'd be coming off the anesthesia. Yowza. Overall we had a great experience and here are some pictures to document her first (hopefully her last) "surgery."

See....Yowza. And this was calm compared to how she was right away.

So thankful she has her tubes and all is well so far.

Sick Baby

My sweet baby has been sick.

She started last week with a random low grade fever. I assumed teeth because she is definitely teething.


Her fever kept going up little by little so I knew something wasn't right.


I took her to the doctor on Friday and as I suspected, an ear infection. The second ear infection in a month. I'm not really sure the first one ever went away.


On Saturday her fever was high. It spent most of the day at 103 and even got up to over 104. We spent the weekend with my parents so Sadie got lots of attention.


She watched lots of nick jr.


She even got a new book.


Finally after a few days on antibiotics her fever broke. She was still in a lot of pain but I think the pain is getting less and less.


She hasn't slept well at all but luckily last night she slept all night.

Thursday morning my little lady gets tubes.

$10 on 10/10

Some friends of mine are in the process of adopting three older girls from Eastern Europe.  On Wednesday, they are having an online fundraiser seeking donations of $10 on 10/10.  I know they would appreciate your support and prayers during this exciting time for their family!

If you would like to learn more about their story or make a donation, all you have to do is go here.  I've also included a little info from Natalie, the adoptive mom, below.

From Natalie:

My husband, Matt, and I currently have two toddlers and are in the process of adopting three, precious sisters (the “Big Girls” as our oldest calls them) from Eastern Europe.  We hosted these girls, 14, 13, and 11, in our home for 5 weeks this summer, and it only took a matter of hours for the girls to capture our hearts.   Life with five kids was a challenge but quickly became normal, and now our home is simply too quiet without them here.

 So now we are following God’s lead to bring the girls home forever.  We are currently processing through a mountain of paperwork and approvals and hope to have the girls back here by Christmas.  We are also holding a few fundraisers to lower the huge cost of international adoption.  As daunting as the overall price tag could be, we are confident the Lord has called us to these girls, so we are excited to see how he provides for his plan.   We would love for you to consider joining us on this journey to bring these girls home.  Thanks for your prayers and support!
