$10 on 10/10

Some friends of mine are in the process of adopting three older girls from Eastern Europe.  On Wednesday, they are having an online fundraiser seeking donations of $10 on 10/10.  I know they would appreciate your support and prayers during this exciting time for their family!

If you would like to learn more about their story or make a donation, all you have to do is go here.  I've also included a little info from Natalie, the adoptive mom, below.

From Natalie:
My husband, Matt, and I currently have two toddlers and are in the process of adopting three, precious sisters (the “Big Girls” as our oldest calls them) from Eastern Europe.  We hosted these girls, 14, 13, and 11, in our home for 5 weeks this summer, and it only took a matter of hours for the girls to capture our hearts.   Life with five kids was a challenge but quickly became normal, and now our home is simply too quiet without them here.

So now we are following God’s lead to bring the girls home forever.  We are currently processing through a mountain of paperwork and approvals and hope to have the girls back here by Christmas.  We are also holding a few fundraisers to lower the huge cost of international adoption.  As daunting as the overall price tag could be, we are confident the Lord has called us to these girls, so we are excited to see how he provides for his plan.   We would love for you to consider joining us on this journey to bring these girls home.  Thanks for your prayers and support!

"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world".  James 1:27

For some of us this means adopting, for others it is being a financial supporter, and for all of us it is a call to prayer.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Sadie's Silhouette

I'm obsessed with this sweet silhouette of my girl. Tim Arnold, the Silhouette Man, is amazing. Amazing. I love all the detail. It took him less than 5 minutes to capture Sadie's silhouette. Like I said, amazing. If you have the chance to see him in person then do it. If not you can send in a profile picture and he will create a work of art.

Yummy Pins

It seems as if every week when I meal plan I include at least one recipe I've found on Pinterest. Lately we have really enjoyed some of the "new to us" creations. I didn't take any pictures myself because I didn't plan to blog them. All of these pictures are straight from the websites where I found the recipes. I just wanted to direct you to a few yummy finds in case you haven't tried them yet.

Let me know about your favorite Pinterest recipes.

Tonight we had Cheese Potato and Smoked Sausage Casserole. It is really yummy. Read the reviews because they have some great suggestions.

Ruined

Last weekend Josh and Sadie came with me to Walmart for our weekly grocery trip. Sadie isn't the easiest to take shopping these days. She thinks she should be allowed to run throughout the store at her will.
Fortunately for her on this particular day her daddy let her do just that. While I was shopping she ran and ran and ran all over the store while her daddy followed close behind her. Eventually it was time for me to check out so Josh and Sadie decided to head to the car. Or so I thought. A few minutes later I looked to my right and saw this...

All future attempts at taking Sadie to Walmart have been ruined.
