Ouch

I knew this day would come. It is almost impossible to avoid.

Sadie has her first black eye. :( Last night she stumbled on her feet and fell into the window seal. It's true what they say. It hurt me a LOT more than it hurt her. I got some ice to put on it but she preferred licking the ice cube.

Here it is last night...

And here it is this morning...

So pitiful! It's gotten darker today and I am still so sad about it. I know things like this happen and relatively speaking this is NOTHING compared to what others face with their children. As her momma though I don't want her to ever be hurt. Not realistic but instill don't like it!

And here she is at Target showing off her shiner. :)

Bless her heart. I will never forget D's first black eye. I dressed him in a smocked Jon Jon for church that Sunday. Hubs was not thrilled about the outfit and said "at least that shiner balances out the amount of 'precious' in that outfit!" I have a picture of him...smocking, shiner, and all! :)

Poor Sadie and poor Mom..

I understand it definitely breaks the Momma heart. Hope it fades quickly..

Poor thing! You're right, it is harder on us than it is for them! I have an 8 year old son, and once he got to kindergarten, I finally had to resign myself to the fact that he was going to get hurt- and he did on a weekly basis. It got to the point where it was more like, "Here we go again..." But when he fell and split his chin and had to go to the ER and have it glued together, that about did me in! Even though that was VERY painful, he was quite proud of it, and made sure to show everyone we saw until the glue fell off!

I hope Sadie's eye is feeling better soon!
