I have done a terrible job of keeping up with my blog! I'm sorry! I guess I'm just not quite used to it. I hope to get better in the coming days, weeks, etc. Not to mention it has been a crazy week. I'm sure we've all been busy! Most people I talk to these days are "busy" all the time. Yes, mine has been busy but it has been a little different for other reasons. On Sunday afternoon my roommate informed me that the father of one of our closest childhood friends had passed away. As you can imagine shock was the apparent emotion for a while and to be honest it still is. Fortunately his passing was very peaceful. He took a nap on Sunday afternoon and never woke up. I'm comforted knowing he didn't suffer but my heart breaks for all of the people he left behind. I grew up in a small town, population 3000ish ,so as you might have guessed everyone knew everyone. And everyone sure did know and love Bob Woolsey. That was evident at the visitation last night. He was a great man! He and his family owned and ran a local pharmacy in town. I spent many afternoons and summers at "the drugstore." His daughter Lisa and I were the best of friends starting at an early age. There are very few childhood memories I have that don't include her or her family. The Lord has blessed me so much with wonderful friendships at every stage of my life and Lisa is certainly one of those blessings! I am grieved by what this precious family is going through but thank goodness Mr. Bob was saved! That has given his family comfort and hope during this tragic time. Lisa told me last night she is so thankful for salvation because it means she, as well as her family, will see Mr. Bob again. Until then I pray for strength to surround them and peace to fill their hearts. If you think about it would you please say a prayer for them as well? I know God will use this for His GLORY!

I Miss the Baxter's
I'm very sad, almost depressed b/c I've been living without any sign of the Baxters for almost 3 weeks now. For a while I was spending every day with them. They were there when I woke up, they were there when I took my lunch break, they were sometimes there when I was supposed to be working and they were there when I went to sleep. I spent as much time as I possibly could with them. And then...they were gone! Here I am waiting and wondering when they'll make their way back in to my life. Word on the street is I won't see them again until 2008 but I refuse to believe that. You might be asking, "Who are the Baxter's?" Well I'll tell you! They're an incredible family full of faith and beauty who has touched my life in so many ways. They are also a fictional family created by Karen Kingsbury in her Redemption, Firstborn, and Sunrise series. OK, so I realize that's a little pathetic. I even laughed at others when they told me how attached they became to the Baxter's. I thought that would never happen to me but I was wrong! Before you pass judgement maybe you should try reading the 12 books that are currently available and see if you can keep yourself detached. It's impossible! I've been trying to read other Karen Kingsbury books in hopes to help with the loss but it just isn't the same. I want to read about Landon and Ashley, Kari and Ryan, Luke and Regan, not to mention Katie and Dayne and of course all the kiddos. I'm anxiously awaiting the release of Someday and Sunset and hoping they won't be the last.

There's a First Time for Everything
Well, thanks to my dear friend Kelly, I am now a blogger! I've been wanting to do it for a while but never got around to it! Please don't judge me on my blog page. I just started so its going to take me a while to get it the way that I want it. If anyone has any suggestions or ideas on how to spruce it up and make it my own (as opposed to the blogger template I had to use) then let me know. Thanks for stopping in! I hope you come back again soon!
