Birthdays, Brownies, Brides, and Buses

Saturday night we had a little birthday celebration for our friend Justin! Holly went to lots of trouble and got some already made brownies at Wal-Mart and blue bell homemade vanilla ice cream. If you ask me I think that's a delicious idea for a birthday party! And it sure was!

Josh, Justin, and Tim

What a great action shot!!
A lot of the evening was spent in front of the computer laughing at YouTube videos. We had a fun evening! Feel free to have a birthday again soon, Justin!

Today was another fun adventure. My sister, Shannon, and I went to Fort Smith to a bridal fair. When I registered they gave me a "Bride" sticker to wear.

We had a lot of fun at the event! I got some great ideas and there was lots of food to taste test. Of course I hung around the dessert stations and I was not disappointed. Great cake and a great chocolate fountain.

As my sister was dropping us off at my car we realized we were behind a rather interesting tour bus! We followed it into the Cracker Barrel parking lot and sat waiting to see is someone "special" came out. We sat there for what seemed like forever but finally gave up when it became apparent the driver made a call in order and the "special" people on the bus weren't going to get out. So naturally I had my sister pull up next to it so I could take a picture of the bus.

Mr. Mailbox

Last Sunday I received a phone call from my roommate while I was out of town letting me know that someone had hit our mailbox along with my neighbor's mailbox. Barb, my neighbor, called the police to see if there was anyway to find out who did it. Obviously that was a long shot but regardless a police officer came out and questioned Barb, Holly, and our neighbors. So far, no luck in catching the culprits. If you see a red Chevy truck driving around with a broken right tail light let me know! Anyway...as you know if you don't have a mailbox the mail person won't deliver mail. So Barb went and got us new ones. She's a great neighbor. Instead of getting two separate ones she got us one post with two boxes. It saved us each a little money. Josh arrived at my house yesterday ready to get our mailbox up and running.
First thing he did was uproot the injured mail boxes.

Next he dug up the dirt and tried to even it out.

Then he had LOTS of fun grinding on the bolts.

In the mean time Barb was working on the actual boxes.

Here's Josh filling in the hole for the new post.

Since it was getting dark last night and really cold we decided (by we I mean Josh) to finish this afternoon. Here's an almost finished product. Josh is a perfectionist so I couldn't wait on him to be completely finished b/c I wanted to update my blog.

Doorstep Surprise!

Early this morning I stepped outside to see if by some chance the mail person had left me any mail yesterday. You see my mailbox was destroyed this weekend by someone who hit it and left (that's another story that I'll share later) so I had to put a stop on my mail. Unfortuntaely the stop didn't start unti l today. When I opened up the door this morning I didn't see any mail but I saw a green package with a card that said "Bride to be." I wish I would have taken a picture of it before I tore into it but I was so excited to see what was inside that I couldn't think to grab my camera... until afterwards. When I saw the handwriting I immediately knew it was from my friend Rebekah. I took it into my room and opened it up! I was sooo happy when I saw what was inside. It's the perfect gift! Thank you, Rebekah! I love it!

A thinline Bible with my soon-to-be last name!

Wonderful Weekend Whirlwind

It was quite the weekend for Josh and I. On Friday we went to Little Rock for an interview with a church. I can't share too many details at this point but we had a good time! Then on Saturday Josh and I, along with my parents and sister decided to head up to Mount Magazine to check out the wedding site.

Here's a picture of where the wedding ceremony will be.

After we looked around The Lodge we ate lunch at the restaurant there. It was really yummy!

Sunday was the crazy part of the weekend. It was Josh's Ordination Day.

I was so fortunate to have my parents and sister along with some of my best friends there for the big day.

Shannon, Laurie, and Kelly came down for the event along with Jason, Katie, and Zach!
Josh preached in the morning then we all went to lunch before the ordination service that afternoon.

Zach was a highlight of my day! He's so cute! I just love him!

Overall it was a great day! Josh and I were both exhausted when it was all over. I'm so proud of Josh! He was great all weekend and after yesterday its obvious he'll make a great pastor!

Smile!

Today has been a crazy day! To start it off my roommate was in a wreck on her way to school. It was icy today and there were lots of wrecks in NWA. Fortunately she was OK and her car was OK. It was just a scary situation. She called me and I went and sat with her until the tow truck arrived. I wish someone would have had their camera because we were on the side of the road (most of the time in my warm car) in matching poofy lime green coats.

After I left Holly with the nice tow truck man I rushed to work. I only had a few minutes until another major event of the week was to take place. It doesn't compare to getting engaged but still would add some extra bling in my life. I got braces...again! I had braces almost two years ago and now I have them again. I need two teeth implants and apparently there isn't enough space for them. Those of you that are wondering, I will either be completely finished with wearing braces or my sweet orthodontist will take them off for the wedding. I took a couple of pictures of myself. By the way, my dad has been calling me Ugly Betty! :)

All Bling...

...Partial Bling

YES!

Last night after I was all ready for bed (tacky pj's, clean face and teeth) our doorbell rang! my roommate and I just looked at each other because we had no idea who it would be. To my surprise it was Josh! He got in his car and drove all the way to my house to bring me dessert.

It was late when he got there so we just sat around on the couch and watch The Food Network. Very romantic, I know! I was so glad he came to see me and I did not want him to leave. It was 9:30 and practically my bedtime. After he tucked me in he kneeled beside my bed, like he always does, and he wished me good night and sweet dreams. Then....he dug around in his pocket, pulled out a ring, AND ASKED ME TO MARRY HIM!!!!!! Of course I said "yes!" I was so excited. We had been talking about it but I thought for sure it would be a month or two before he asked. Nope!

The Happy Couple

The beautiful ring! Josh picked a winner! I love it!
It was such a great surprise! I'm not the easiest person to surprise. I usually know something about to happen before it does. I was shocked when he brought out the ring. It was a lot of fun to be surprised. Last night and today have been crazy! I've had a time trying to call everyone and let them know! I guess if they don't know now they will soon. Of course everyone has been so excited for me. My friend Katie (and Zach) stopped by to give my first official gift. It's a key chain with a "B" on it. That's going to be the first initial of my new last name!!

Breakfast for Dinner

I love having breakfast for dinner. My roommates and I used to enjoy it a lot on Sunday evenings. We haven't done it since Ashley moved out. But last night Holly and I went over to Ashley's to enjoy some yummy breakfast. Our friends Shannon and Justin joined in the fun too.

Upon arrival Ashley was playing Guitar Hero.

Then Ashley and Holly prepared our delicious dinner!

Shannon and I prepared to eat the delicious meal.

After we ate Justin helped Ashley try to hang a picture above her sink.

All in all it was a really good night!

Fabulous Friday

What a great Friday I had!

  1. I love Fridays because either I go see Josh or he comes to see me! This week was his turn.

  2. I had Chick-fil-A for lunch. A chicken sandwich and small waffle fries to be exact. Fridays are my diet cheat day and I had myself a good ole time!

  3. I got a new blog look! Thanks to FabulousKDesigns I am a new woman! Seriously, I just love it! I look at it all the time! It's so me! She did a great job! Kelly has become a new friend of mine through blog land. She's great! You should check her out!

  4. I got a new calender. If you've been reading my blog for a while you know my favorite food is cupcakes. Well this calendar was half off at Barnes & Noble and I just had to have one. It has great cupcakes and even the recipes. Woohoo!

  5. I got a new journal. I've never been much of a journal person. I always have good intentions but I never see it through. I've decided this year would be a great year to document. So while at Barnes & Noble I picked on up.

  6. On the way home Josh and I stopped by one of my favorite places, Maggie Moos. I told you already, Friday is cheat day. Anyway, I got my usual, chocolate better batter ice cream with brownies. Delee!!!

Brown Baby Boots and More

Yesterday was a great day! My friend Katie called in the afternoon and wanted to know if she and Zach could stop by and see me at work! OF COURSE!!! I love them both a bunch and love spending time with them. Zach was dressed oh so cute! Check out his little brown boots! Aren't they great?

Then last night I met up with some of my fun friends for dinner. We aren't able to get together often but when we do I always have a good time. They are hilarious and we always have the most random, interesting conversations.

Tooooomorrow, Tomorrow, I'll love ya Tomorrow...

Last night was the 3rd Broadway show in our series at The Walton Arts Center. I was thrilled when I found out last year that Annie was coming to town! I knew I had to be there! Prior to this one my friend Shannon and I went to Spelling Bee and Hairspray. I was excited about those but I was REALLY excited about Annie! It's a classic! And it certainly did not disappoint! I loved every second of it (well except the few unnecessary curse words...I mean really, it's Annie). It took every ounce of self control I had not to get up and join the cast in song and dance. OK, so I really wasn't tempted to run up there on stage but I was tempted to get up, sing along, and shake around from where I was sitting. Fortunately I refrained from that and all of the people sitting around me were spared. Oh and Sandy was sooooo cute! I want a dog like that! If you haven't seen this show I highly recommend it. And since General Mills was a sponsor we got free food on our way out. They had lots of snacks to choose from but Shannon and I chose...

BUGLES! Remember these? I used to always get these while waiting to get my hair done at "the beauty shop" when I was little. Like most of you, I'm sure, I enjoyed putting them on my finger tips and pretending I was a diva with long nails! Or sometimes a scary witch! Anyway, if you haven't had these in a while go get you some. The original flavor is still the best!

Weekend Festivities

This weekend was my weekend to go visit Josh. When I go visit him I usually stay at the Davis' house. Don and Lou Nell are a sweet couple that go to Josh's church. I absolutely adore them.

They have a beautiful home, like a log cabin, out in the "country." It's so quiet and peaceful out there. I love it!

This is my bedroom while I'm there!
Josh and I decided to spend Friday night hanging out with them. The plan was for Lou Nell to make a "light supper" and we'd all watch a movie. When we sat down to eat the meal was delicious but it certainly wasn't "light." She made smothered steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, homemade rolls, and a buttermilk pie. Oh it was good!!

On Saturday morning Josh and I decided to go for a walk on a nature trail in Clarksville. After our dinner on Friday we both needed it.

After our walk we went to this great coffee shop in town, Joco Java. If any of you are in that part of the state you need to by.

This is my favorite, Cocomochanut!
Saturday afternoon we went to Russellville to shop around and eat dinner. Josh and I were looking for clothes to wear to his ordination service in a couple of weeks. I didn't find me anything but we found Josh a shirt and a couple of ties. After we exhausted ourselves we went and had dinner across the river at Savanah's. YUM-O!

Wal-mart was the next stop in our exciting night! After we did our shopping I had to go to the restroom before we headed back to Clarksville. When I got into the restroom I went into the only open stall there. To my surprise it was the "kiddie" toilet! First I laughed out loud, then I grabbed my camera so I could share my bathroom experience with the rest of you.
