Beach Trip Cut Short

I've been looking forward to this week for a while now. A vacation with Josh, Sadie, and my mom at our favorite Orange Beach, AL is just what I needed. It was going to be the 4 of us then an unwelcome visitor threatened to show up. You may have heard of him, Tropical Storm/Hurricane Isaac. We knew when we left he might be a problem but we wanted to give it a shot. Up until today at 10:00 AM we had planned to stay in a hotel and wait for him to pass. That would have been fine except for the 20 something inches of rain forecasted. Yowza. We discussed our options and just decides it would be best to head home. Luckily we have another trip planned in a few months to help ease the pain. Honestly I'm really ok about it. We had a great couple of days. Plus our vacation plans falling through are nothing compared to the storm itself people are about to deal with.

Anyway, here is a phone recap of our trip. More pictures will come later.

Praying for all the people who will be impacted by Mr. Isaac.

Spot On

Sadie's teacher filled out her classroom information sheet. I think she pretty much nailed it. :)

I am so thankful Sadie has teachers who get her and love her! This week I've felt very blessed with all of the ways God has worked out details in our lives.

Back to Work

After a couple of weeks off I started back to work last week. I actually hadn't planned to start back until next week but some things have changed as far as my job is concerned. I work at the same place but instead of being in a classroom I am now a director for the Mother's Day Out program. I still get to work the same hours which is such a blessing. I can already tell I am really going to like my new role.

Sadie was excited to go back too. She loves it there even if sometimes its hard to tell. :)

About to leave for our first day back.

Playing with the babies.

She loves the firetruck and the green horsey. :)

Mrs. Mona crowned her Princess Sassy Pants and Sadie wore her crown proudly. She rode home in it and even ate her lunch while wearing it. She takes her role as princess very seriously.

Sadie and I are so blessed to be around such wonderful people. I am thankful God opened up this door for us and I am excited about this new year!

15 Months Old

 July 13, 2012

Sadie. you are 15 months old. WOW! Although you are technically a toddler now you will always be my baby. I can't believe you are already so grown up. You are walking, running, climbing, and just moving and a shaking. I feel like the last 15 months have just gone by in an instant and I want to freeze time.

You are a lot of fun. You have definitely shown your "motivated" (a friend suggested this term as opposed to strong-willed) side . You really enjoy testing your boundaries. Oh and you love to scream. And whine, You actually have a whiny scream. These sort of things aren't tolerated though so you're learning.

Back to the fun part. You really are a blast. I call you a ham all the time because you are constantly doing the most bizarre and funny things. You do not lack personality. I am told all the time how much people love your MANY facial expressions. It's true. You have a lot.

You are currently into everything. Everything in sight is a toy and you make it your mission to explore it. You are the happiest when we are in a large area and you can run until your short little legs can't carry you any further. This is one reason you love church. You get so excited when we pull into the parking lot. I like to think it is because you love Jesus but I know it is because you love all the freedom.

You are also quite the talker. You have said lots of words from a very early age. It has just been your thing. Now you repeat everything. Your favorite things to say now are: there ya go, all gone, no more, bless you (when someone sneezes), thank you, see ya, etc. You have this funny excited "Yay" you yell when I ask you things like, "do you want applesauce? Do you want to watch Dora? Do you want to go bye-bye? Do you want some yum-yum?" It is as if whatever I have suggested is the best thing you could ever imagine.
Your favorite toys these days are your golf clubs, fisher price kitchen, baby, baby stroller, baby high chair, Olivia, and every stuffed animal you can find. You are OBSESSED with books. You love to "read" them to yourself and you love to have them read to you. You also enjoy playing in the laundry room with the measuring cups, etc. Laundry has become one of your favorite chores. You are a big help. :) You help put the things from the washer into the dryer. You are very proud of yourself. Mommy is proud of you too.

Some other tidbits:
*You weigh around 26lbs and are 30" tall
*You wear size 18month clothes, size 3 shoe, and size 4 diaper
*You sleep from 7:30 or 8:00 to between 7:00 and 8:00
*You take 2 naps still unless it is a school day then you just take one in the afternoon
*You will only drink milk and water
*You prefer fruits and vegetables over any other food
*After those you love pizza and cheese the best
*You are still obsessed with your Jules but you are a daddy's girl too. You love momma, of course, but I'm third
*You love Nick Jr. You don't watch it all the time but you would if I'd let you. Jules lets you watch it all day which is one reason she is your favorite. :)
*You are a dancing machine. You have better moves than some grown adults. Your daddy and I laugh at you all the time

I can't believe how much you've changed in a year. You don't like to sit still long enough to have your picture taken either. It's ok though. You are still full of smiles. You are the sweetest, most wonderful baby. I am in awe of the blessing I have in you. Your daddy and I think you are it. We don't deserve you but we love you.

Ups and Downs

This weekend was full of ups and downs. Josh officiated his Nana's funeral on Saturday. I heard he did a really great job. I know his Nana would have been proud of him. Sadie and I didn't attend the service for obvious reasons. A motivated 15 month old doesn't belong at a funeral. It was really good to get to see family though.

Sadie looked cute in her yellow dress Big Dog bought her.

The rest of the weekend was full of ups for Sadie.

Her first ice cream cone.

A cheerleading dress.

French onion dip and chips.

ANOTHER cheerleading outfit.

I've been thinking a lot this weekend about how blessed I am. I have struggled some lately with being discontent and it's just crazy. I am beyond blessed. I may not have everything I *want* but I have SO much more than anything I deserve.
Thank you, Lord.

I knew this day would come. It is almost impossible to avoid.

Sadie has her first black eye. :( Last night she stumbled on her feet and fell into the window seal. It's true what they say. It hurt me a LOT more than it hurt her. I got some ice to put on it but she preferred licking the ice cube.

Here it is last night...

And here it is this morning...

So pitiful! It's gotten darker today and I am still so sad about it. I know things like this happen and relatively speaking this is NOTHING compared to what others face with their children. As her momma though I don't want her to ever be hurt. Not realistic but instill don't like it!

And here she is at Target showing off her shiner. :)

Rockabye Baby

My little baby loves to rock her little baby while sitting in the baby's cradle. Honestly, she likes to climb and sit in anything she can find. It doesn't matter if it makes sense or not. At least in this case it makes sense.
On another note, here she is hanging out with her best friend. They sure are pretty.
