An Excuse to Dress Up

Truth.

When I went to the University of Arkansas I LOVED getting dressed up for Razorback football games. Even if we had to sit outside for 4 hours before kickoff to secure our seats we still dressed up. After graduating I fell into the habit of dressing more casual for games. I missed dressing up though. There was just something about it. If I am ever lucky enough to get season tickets again I will dress up from time to time. It is the right thing to do.

Even though we don't get to go to games anymore and I don't really dress myself up it is important for an SEC baby to get dressed up for games.. I have been thinking about Sadie's "hog" outfits for a while now.

I know. Ridiculous.

Obviously she'll need some things she can wear to school to show her school spirit, she'll need outfits for actual game days, and then church dresses to celebrate the Saturday victories.

I wanted to share two of her new outfits for this year. Luckily she has a sweet smocked dress from last year can wear too but when I saw this I knew it had to be hers.

I love this. It is even cuter in person. The best thing about dresses like this is she can wear it for at LEAST two seasons.

Another one of her new dresses this year is something I made for her.

I absoultely love it. It looks SO cute on her. She can wear it like this early in the season and then I will make ruffle pants for her to put with it when it cools down.

I still have a couple of t-shirts to make her for school and she'll be set.

Here is a look back at some of her Razorback attire from last year.

Change of Plans

I've learned a few things since I became a mom and one of those is how plans change. I am a planner and I operate much better when things go according to that plan. How quickly a sick baby can change things.
Sadie has been sick for a few weeks now. It started out as teething (top molars) then she got a virus, and now we're back to teething (canines). I should mention she is the slowest teether. They will swell and cause problems but not cut through for months. She started having problems with all 4 molars on her birthday and she just now has all 4.
Anyway....all that to say I've had a lot of plans in the last few weeks and few have happened.

Sweet sick baby in mis-matched pjs and sweaty bed-head.

The only "good" thing about being sick is the cuddle time.

She loved being cuddled or just relaxing and watching "Doh-rah" (Dora).

She did perk up for an Oreo

But was back to her pitiful self soon.

Luckily she has started feeling better the last few days. She still isn't completely herself

butbshe feels well enough to climb in her jumperoo by herself.
I don't like it when plans change. I was supposed to have a fun girls weekend in Dallas but decided not to go so I could stay home with my babe. I was so disappointed but I'm a momma first. My plans changed but the Lord blessed me with a fun weekend at home. Sadie felt so much better yesterday so we went to lunch and ran a few errands.

Sadie loves pizza. Loves it. I knew a pizza lunch was just what she needed. After lunch we went to Joann's so I could look at fabric. Sweet Josh chased Sadie all over that store. While standing in line I could hear her giggling and running all over the place. Music to my ears.
I'm thankful Sadie is much better. We go back to the doctor tomorrow for her well visit so hopefully all will be well.

Note: I know there is an outlet near her jumperoo in one picture. I move her away from it when plays. I also know her carseat chest strap is lower than it should be in the last picture set. I was sitting in the back with her since she was still eating so I was able to raise it.

She is BACK!

Anyone notice my cute new blog design? I LOVE it! If you have read this blog for a while now you know my friend Tricia does all of my blog designs. She is so talented and I love her style. You probably also know she does lots of other things for me too.

Recently I asked her to make me some cards to include with the items I sew/applique and also with gifts I give. Can you tell I LOVE rainbow chevron these days. It's just so colorful and cheerful.

ANYWAY, I say all of this to say that Tricia took a short break from designing but she is back. Yay! You need to check her out! She has a summer special going on and it is amazing! If you are looking for a beautiful blog design at a great price you have found it.

Flags for the Fourth

Ok, so I am obviously way behind on blogging and I will catch up one of these days. Maybe. I spend a lot of time at my sewing/embroidery machine these days and less time on the computer. I'm not complaining though. I have really enjoyed the break from some of my social media outlets. Anyway...
I don't actually have pictures ready to post from the actual Fourth of July but I do have a few pictures to post of the weekend before the holiday.

Sadie was completely and totally in awe of the flags in church. She ran up to each one as if it was the best thing she has ever seen. I love watching to experience new and exciting things.

I will post lots more in the days to come...
